Zaatar Passata
Zaatar Passata is latest addition to Terra Rossa’s UK hand-made range of ready-to-eat and ultra-versatile Sauces and Salsas. Made from the freshest tomatoes, garlic, onions, the uniquely aromatic flavoured Palestinian Zaatar thyme mix and preserved with Terra Rossa’s Jordanian extra virgin olive oil, this delicious Passata – more akin to a Salsa -adds a burst of flavour and colour to any dish hot or cold. Not only is it traditionally enjoyed by simply mixing a few tablespoons with olive oil and scooped with freshly made pitta bread, but it’s also used as a sauce spead on pizza and Calzoni. It’s extremely easy to cook with and is frequently used as a base ingredient to make other dishes from soups to stews and accompanied with Burghul, green wheat Freekeh, rice and couscous. It’s a must stir-through for pasta, as a sauce for pulses especially white beans to make your own baked beans. It is often found caressing green beans and flavouring root vegetable traybakes, and as a condiment for barbequed meat, Tofu and Paneer skewers, as a filling for tortillas, falafel wraps and spooned over Nachos and topped with cheese.
